Well, those symtpoms could've been either.
Symptoms of shunt are seizures, circling, head pressing, drooling, lethargy, depression, urination issues/UTIs/stones, GI problems, staring, inappetance, etc.
If the vet is thinking that it is possible LS, the blood work should not wait until next month.
