We did once. We didn't want to, but it was when first of all, we only had Max, who's pretty quiet. Now that we have Madison, who loves to bark at everything, I think we never would have been able to pull it off.
My MIL had died and the funeral was a long ways from us and when we tried to make reservations at the dog friendly places in that town, everything was booked up b/c of some event going on. So we ended up having to sneak Max into a non dog friendly place (which was also a place that my dh stayed VERY often for business
). Our room was on the second floor and I had to go up and down the stairs to take Max out and dh would meet me in the back of the hotel when we were going anywhere. The worst part of it was, that whenever I went out the exit door where the stairs were, the door automatically locked behind me, so I'd have to call my dh when we got back so he could let us in. It was kind of a hassle and sort of stressful b/c we were afraid Max would bark and we'd get thrown out, but we got thru the whole adventure without being found out. I wouldn't do it again unless it was an emergency like this time was. And we usually pay $100 non refundable pet deposit where we stay (dh says "for that much money, he can poop anywhere he wants"
).
