The coyotes around here have been known to snatch a small dog off one of thoses extendo leashes while the people were walking the dog. They have also gone into peoples houses after small children or pets. One even tried to snatch a human baby out of a sand-box at a very populated park. I think this was in Ca. They can scale a 6 foot block wall and wait until you let your pet outside in the back yard. The coyotes hear have killed my chickens right outside my bedroom window. They are extreme, skillful and sneaky predators and are not afraid of humans or small to medium size dogs. They are afraid of ostridges, llamas and donkeys as these animals will kill a coyote if possible. Please dont underestimate these coyotes when it comes to the safety of your small dogs!
