FYI - I would fast the dog before doing to the vet and bring his food with you. BAT requires a blood draw after the dog has been fasted and then the dog eats and the blood work is repeated after 2 hours. Usually, before BAT testing, other liver enzymes may be elevated like ALT reading. This is one of the ones that usually warrants the BAT being done.
In the meanwhile until you get to the vet, give your dog some plain yogurt (a couple of teaspoons) of either stonyfield farm or plain greek yogurt. Yogurt can help to absorb the toxins if you are in a liver situation. If it isnt liver prob, yogurt wont hurt anyway. |
