Your breeder is absolutely right.
Flea meds aren't healthy at all but sometimes it is hard to get around using them. Ellie doesn't play outside much, so we don't have an issue. When we do, she gets a bath in Dawn. If that doesn't work, we use Frontline Plus. This is for fleas only and we do "not" skip heartworm medication.
