It can take days for a puppy to recover from a hypoglycemic attack like holly's. She was really bad so it won't be a quick all better recovery. To avoid attacks of hypoglycemia give her the nutri-cal every few hours if she isn't eating / or not eating enough, or if you don't think it is getting to her stomach because the nutrical is a paste and it should reach just like the water. That will prevent another attack.
Anytime you see a young pup who hasn't been eating much get listless hypoglycemia MUST be taken into account as they go downhill very fast, even 1 skipped meal can cause an attack to come on.
Don't give up on her, You have been a great mommy so far getting her all the help she needs and SHE BEAT PARVO!! so she is obviously a SUPER STRONG LITTLE GIRL!! Poor honey, we will pray for you as she has been through so so much already.
If you have questions please come here to ask, if she is not looking like herself or doing weird stuff don't feel bad asking.. maybe put it in the general forum if you are not sure... There are TONS of people with lots of experience in everything yorkie.. so chances are SOMEBODY ON HERE HAS BEEN THERE. Hypoglycemia is VERY common with these little guys.
I am sending hugs your way to help get you through this tough time, I know it has been crazy for you! but you have been doing a great job .. any puppy would be lucky to have you for a mommy. |
