Thanks you for your reply..............

I was fortunate to have found such a great puppy with Daisy.. Coming from a pet store and all........... She is eager to learn.. has been potty training wonderful.. is not shy and never quivers...Shes wonderful.. I have a house full of animals.. (scary noises at time..lol) so.. I was worried.......... But I will not take that chance again....Its like she has been with us from day one..

I wish I could find a hobby type breeder.. Some prices are out of my range right now too........ unfortunatley I hope the right puppy will come along....

Thanks again for your input..

Laurie

The puppies have been older than those offered by some of the professional breeders in the areas we've lived (Tulsa and now northwest Arkansas) and raised in home environments. The home environment has made a HUGE difference. The puppies have not been shy and didn't hide or quiver. They've been confident, playful, happy, and eager and ready to bond with a person. Obviously, the professional breeders we looked at weren't the greatest. One of them was really a small puppy mill. I know a really GOOD professional breeder is a whole different story, but we just couldn't pay those prices. The hobby breeders gave us access to better puppies than we could otherwise afford. One breeder gave us a discount partly because we bought two litter mates and partly because she really liked us and she didn't like some of the other people who'd looked at her dogs.
