It sounds like grain-free could help with your dog's allergies.

Grain-free food is healthy and can be fed whether or not there is a "problem". I feed grain-free food simply because dogs were never meant to eat grains in the wild. They are carnivores and are meant to eat high protein food full of meat. Right now, raw is not feasible for my lifestyle so we do the best we can. Also, grains are big sources of allergies and itching in dogs.

Also, I've never heard that you need to add water. Out of curiosity, why would you need to do that?
