aw, i have a jackson too! i got jackson at 9 weeks and began crate training him and he did absolutely fine. he'd bark for a while though but he'd eventually quiet down. i see nothing wrong with crate training at 8 weeks.

and yes, either train one way or the other, don't try to teach him both. he'll be really confused, especially so young.

consistency and schedule is the key! keep him on the same schedule every day. let him out every hour, or half hour. you'll learn when he has to go potty. he's very young and can't hold it long so be sure to take him out often. leave no room for mistakes and when you can't watch him 24/7 keep him locked in a crate or a pen.

you can expect many set backs. you've only had him for 3 days.
