She would be better off with a puppy formula.
Thank you for your concern, but the diet I have my baby on is under the supervision of a vet. He had suggested it actually. Monty still gets puppy hard food as well as the soft cat food. It was a trade off. I had a lethargic underweight puppy that absolutely would not gain the correct amount of weight and had a zero activity level. He is now happy and very healthy and far from lethargic. Obviously the cat food is not a permanent choice, I should have been more specific. But puppy food alone was not giving him what he needed. Plus, according to my vet, cat food is more appealing to picky baby dolls. Truly, the change in Money is astounding. His minimum weight should be at 4 lbs and he is almost there now as before he was way below what he should have been. As with any change such as this one should consult their vet, I guess I should have noted that as well. But I still swear by his diet. It has truly done wonders for Monty. I do apologize I was not more specific with my post/recommendation. But I do trust my vet as he has been there for all of my pets for many many years and has done wonders throughout.
Best of luck to the concerned mother with her venture into figuring out what she should do to gain weight.
