I THOUGHT Nicco knew that he should go to the washroom in the crate and he was fine for the first two days but today he went pee right on the carpet! Even though the crate was wide open and he was literally standing right beside it (it was not even one step away!!!!) i love him and i feel so bad to say this but i am getting pretty frustrated.
Not about the washroom thing because i know it takes time but i just want to make sure i'm doing it correctly. How long does it generally take for them to learn? I know it's different for each puppy but i just wanted to ask you guys in case.
Also, one more thing. He sleeps in his crate at night but i don't think he likes it anymore! He doesn't mind it sometimes but he's constantly barking to get out. I'm afraid to let him out because i think he'll go to the washroom and mark his territory at yet another place on the floor. At night he sleeps well but EVERY night around 3am he wakes up and starts barking all night!!! Last night at 3:30am he woke up and was barking and whimpering for a long time! When my dad woke up for work at 5am, he was still at it and my dad let him out and he peed on the floor! I don't know what to do.
He's my first puppy and i don't know if i'm doing anything right. I've been told to take him to obedience school since they are professionals but i've also been told that this isn't a good idea since the puppy learns to obey the person at the school and then has the same problems when he/she comes home. Thoughts?
