I'd love to try out the xpen thing but unfortunately, we don't have enough room for it! Unless it would be on a carpeted area and i don't want to take my chances with that as it is a lot harder to clean if he has an accident. The crate seems to be working alright..just the only problem is when he goes to the washroom. I don't know how to make him realize that the blankets are where he sleeps and he should go in the litter box. I thought of taking it outside of the crate but then we'd have a problem at night time when he is left in the crate and may need to use the washroom and will have no where to go! Are there any methods to help him out a little bit? If he pees/poos on the blankets again, what should i do?
So far, if he goes to the washroom in the wrong spot, i say "NO" in a stern voice and put him in the litter box right away and don't let him get out for about a minute or two. After that, i'll let him go back to playing. He doesn't really seem to care though when i say something to him in a stern voice. I've read that puppies get startled and usually stop what they are doing but he just thinks i'm playing with him and barks back at me.
