A true friend is much like a marriage relationship, and unfortunately, many people see others as disposable, it easier to find a new friend then deal with the situation. I heard this line the other day from the movie,
How to Make an American Quilt, and thought it was wonderful, and it applies to friends as well.

I think some of the "rough patches" we go through with friends can make the friendship ultimately more beautiful too.
