Keelymomma, trust me I'm not against any certain dogs. Like I said in my previous post, I blame the owners.
Matter of fact, I'm sitting here at work with a copy of the latest Sports Illustrated with Jasmine the pit bull on the cover. They have a beautiful story about Vick's dogs in there. Alot of them have been saved from euth, rehabed and have loving dedicated homes.

I'm not sure if his ears were cropped. When I told DH how he ran up and immediately grabbed Merlot's neck, that was his first thought. He thought that the dog was probably doing what it was taught to do.

Us yorkie folks think alike!
This is exactly what I told DH. When Merlot's wounds are all healed, I'm treating him to a doggie massage and proper grooming. Lucy of course too! His hair is all lopsided from the shaving and he has'nt been able to have a bath since the accident.
I've also read that massaging helps with healing!

Bottom line they need a person that is ready for the challenge just like any other breed, but even more so in a large dog that can do alot of damage.
This is actually why I mentioned the breed in my thread start. Plus, I knew everyone would be curious. Our dogs up against a pit bull is alot different then against a chi.
The strength of these dogs are amazing. With me holding both it's legs, someone kicking it and then beating it in the head, it still was going strong.

Animals are very unpredictable and that's why there are leash laws. Unfortunately people don't abide by them.

It should not be taken out on just one breed it can happen with any breed. It just happens to be then when it happens with a pitt its alot worst. I dont believe pitts should be banned, I just think not anyone should be allowed to own one. Just my opinion, I love all animals.[/quote]

Me too!
