Anyways, I discussed the Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations with my vet. I will definitely NOT be doing Bordetella, and I'm thinking that I may skip the Rabies too. What do you all think? I asked the vet what her risks are if she doesn't get it, and she said by the sounds of it Missy won't be much of an "outdoorsy type" and really the only way she'd come into contact would be if a Bat flew in our home. All of the cases of Rabies in the last few yrs in my province have been found in bats (14 or less per year for the entire province), except for one which was a cat last year. I know there are random skunks and coyotes that wander through our area, but Missy will never be outside off leash, and she is pee pad trained. I'd like to keep it that way.

So, what do you all think? It's not "the law" to get the Rabies vaccine in my area. Should I skip it? Would you?

Here's a pic of Missy last night. Thought I'd share...her colour is sure starting to change.

Lucky for you that it is not "the Law" were you are, my Jeter was only 1 pound 6 ounces when he got his first rabies vaccine last year when he was 15weeks old, Now in a few weeks he gets to go in for his yearly booster with the rabies shot included this time ( after that it's every 3 years) and he is now 15 months old and is 2 pounds 8 ounces...I am a bit worried again like last year I really wish I had the option not to get it!
