I know & totally understand your apprehension, which is why I've only been on one real vacation since we got Deegan 3.5 yrs ago. I will not board him at a kennel & I honestly don't trust too many people with him either... The one person I do trust is my hubby's mom, but I'm kinda on bad terms with her right now so that kinda leaves her out. The only other two (of which I'm still nervous with) are my co-worker & friend or our neighbour's daughter. They are both big animal lovers, but still... And I prefer them to watch Deegan at our house. Just because I don't want to upset his routine too much. With the mother-in-law, he's used of her house so that's not a problem. If I had two it might be easier to bring to a kennel, because they'd have each other, but I still don't know if I'd do that. I know a couple people in my area that are on YT, and leaving Deegan with them would be a bit easier because I know that they love & cherish their pets like I do Deegan, and they know what to expect. It's a tough decision though... |
