We have been on both sides of this. We have just sent some yorkies home with their mom today after yorkiesitting for four days. This is the second year in a row we've done this. She asked in the regional section of YT if anyone would be interested. We replied that would would because we love yorkies and wanted to continue Gizmo's socialization. She and her pups came to dinner one evening about a month before to meet us and let the pups play. We all got to know each other and that worked great!
Then, when my husband had to have major surgery out of town, a different YT family volunteered to keep Gizmo for us. In that situation, we didn't have time to let everyone meet first, so I asked for and checked references. They were wonderful people!! I couldn't have found a better situation for Gizmo.
Do you go to yorkie meetups? Are there people you know who have yorkies in your area? Maybe you could also ask them to get the word out that you're looking. Good luck. I know how tough it is.
