I understand that people want small dogs...and I don't have a problem with small dogs at ALL - I think they're adorable. But I just don't think that this person understands what she is getting along with a small dog. It's not just a little chi. that she can put in her purse and take places with her...having a small dog is VERY dangerous! It's SO easy for them to get hurt.
A dog that is 2.5-3 lbs can never be trusted to jump off the couch, sleep on the bed at night (might roll over on them), go outside for even 1 second by themself, etc. and they are much more prone to health problems. It's so hard to get them spayed/neutered or something as simple as a teeth cleaning because of the affect the anestesia can have on them. I mean, I don't know this person, maybe they are well aware of all of this - so I don't want to judge them. I just *really* hope that they are educated as to what the potential problems are, for the dog's well being and their own!
EDIT: and Shaunna, I think that Missy is just the CUTEST little thing!
and I don't get when people say that small dogs aren't real dogs - obviously they've never had a small dog before.
