I'm very sorry for the pup's loss, but my pragmatisim is kicking in: why did the pup die? How are the other puppies in the litter? Is it a genetic problem?

The answers to the above questions are important. Furthermore, in many ways, it may have been fortunate that the puppy died before you got her home. You would have had unexpected vet bills, and it would have been absolutely horrible if your daughter had bonded to the pup and THEN the pup died. You would never have been able to explain that to her. Death is difficult to explain to any child, let alone one with autisim.

R.I.P., little Holly ... but my hopes are with you so that you get a happy and HEALTHY puppy in the near future.
