Congratulations - I know the wait seems endless! I got my Olivia this past October and she celebrated her 8th birthday on 12/1! She was a breeder for most of her life. The ad read "Needs lots of love" so when I called the lady I asked exactly what that meant...since it could mean dozens of things! Turns out she was very timid and frightened; another person had bought her but returned her a day later because she hid under the furniture and wouldn't come out. I wasn't sure if I should take her or not from our phone conversation, but the instant I saw her I knew it was meant to be. She has actually adjusted very quickly - and not once has she hid under the furniture!

The vet says she will need work on her teeth but other than that she is healthy. She is still not 100% housetrained but is doing so much better...she does not like grass and prefers to potty on the concrete patio or sidewalk. I figure we'll work on the grass thing in the spring! I'm sure she didn't know what grass was when she was kept as a breeder. She still does kind of crawl away and then half-roll over when I go to pick her up; I am hoping that will get better with time as she continues to learn she can trust us. But otherwise she has been a dream girl and I am so glad I gave her (and me!) a chance! Patience and calmness seemed to be 2 key factors in helping her to transition. And finding a good routine that worked for both of us was important too. I would think getting siblings at the same time would be great! Good luck with your little girls and keep us posted!
