Thanks everyone so much for your prayers and concerns. If you would like to see a picture of my sons and read a bit more of this mess; you can go to savemyboys.com. For those in the Lancaster area, there is a guy (Ben) on daddyjustice.com who won a case for a local woman and her daughter. It is a landmark case. He helped her win a settlement of $125,000.
My lawyer told me that rather than be adversarial with CYS, I should just do as they ask to get my boys back sooner. Then, go to Ben and sue.
Because I live on SS disability, my lawyer is pro bono. My daughter doesn't believe that he is doing his utmost for me like he would if I were a paying client. I don't know what to believe.
Because of them taking them from me, my income has been halved. My boys each receive SSI, as they are autistic.
Because of the loss of their income too, it has really hit hard. Just running back and forth to visit each boy once per week and bring them fast food as a treat costs about $200 or so per month. After paying all my bills, it leaves me with very little.
I am also depressed because I was able to buy only a few gifts for the boys and one for each grandchild. Nothing for my daughter who greatly deserves something as she's been very good to me and the boys.
Because of all of my running around, feeling depressed, I forgot to contact my local CAP office sooner; anyway I found out I missed by a day for being able to sign up for Toys for Tots. Same for the Salvation Army.
Not only will this be a lonely Christmas for the boys and I; but it will be a very lean one for the boys. And, for that, I feel even worse.
But, we all have each other and know that we love each other. That is something that not all children have as my sons have found out from this experience. They are even more precious to me and I to them.
I am hoping that after the 29th (court hearing at 1pm), that we will soon have home visits.
Please keep us in your thoughts.
Carolyn
P.S. I had asked the boy's CYS caseworker about Christmas gifts as well as their MH/MR caseworker. But, I am not going to hold my breath as they haven't done anything else for them up to this point; other than to take them away.
Who knows? Maybe there will be a secret Santa for them after all.
