I would keep the dog!!!! No way is she responsible enough to take care of him. I'd pay her the amount you agreed to, if she can provide receipts and explain that he needs expensive surgery. This is a re-homing not a new puppy for sale here. You two made a deal, Tell her Puppies are not play things that you get to see a couple hours a day and then you leave him and go home. If she still wants him back I would charge her for food, vet care, and dog sitting fees @$40 bucks a day for however long you've had him. Heck @ a doggie day care dogs don't get 90 minutes of exercise,loving,a super nice bed,rides in the car, ( You get the idea) and real human bonding!! You two do not have a legal agreemant only a verbal one. Make her an offer, if she balks, take the dog,walk and tell her to go to the devil!! But, keep YOUR dog!!!
