I used PayPal a couple of times when they first started up and I didn't like it. All you have to do is read the eBay community board for PayPal and you'll see the problems sellers have had with PayPal. Like I said before, I've used eBay since their beginning. I have 100% perfect feedback for both buying and selling and somehow I managed to survive by using checks and postal money orders all that time...it was never a problem for me or anyone who bought from me.
