Capone had the same issue. He went through a huge growth spurt very early. Our vet told me the same thing as far as doubling his weight after a couple months and it turned out to be true for us. He is 9 months of age and 13 lbs. This is a purebreed, papered dog. I was so upset when I found out that he was not going to be small at first. I got over it pretty quick though. It just seemed like he kept growing and the vet assured us he was not overweight, infact he is very athletic. He was already nuertered, which was great because we have no intentions of breeding or showing him. The bonus on having a bigger Yorkie is they are not as fragile. We love our little guy so much and get tons of complimants on him.
