I think that's sort of the same thing that has happened with Susan. My husband kept his distance from her for a long time; he's just now starting to make friends. But he waited until Susan was well bonded to me. I appreciate his efforts that way because I'm the one who longed for a dog. Of course, the fact that I'm the one who's home most helps, too.
