Good! I'm so glad to hear that you already plan to do labwork! That's great! If you do choose to do the bile acid test (BAT), make sure they draw blood at "resting" (meaning, before a meal, although I've read that they don't have to be fasted for 12 hours or anything), then feed her a small meal (that has fat in it--fat is what makes the gallbladder contract), and then draw her blood again 2 hours immediately after that meal. The "post" draw is probably more important than the "pre", but together they give much more information. I've read several vets and YT members both say that they believe all Yorkies should be bile acid tested after 20 weeks since it is so prevalent among the breed. It sounds like you have a great vet, though, since mine didn't suggest ANY labwork at all until the day she got spayed

AND, it's great that your breeder did labs before you took her home too....very, very good!!! I don't know about you, but I worry about mine as if she were my baby (because she is!!!).....YT is so helpful to inform and give advice. I don't know where I'd be without everyone!
