Thanks for all the encouraging words!! I think I need to suck it up and make it work.
I do live at home and my mom will help occasionally on the weekends if she's not out and about. My dad refuses to help me take care of Tokes because I keep him in my room and not the kitchen. I think it's more comforting for me and Tokes that he sleeps and is crated in my room. There is no one home during the day, so there's no commotion for him in the kitchen to keep him occupied anyway.

I really want to take him to doggy day care, and will probably have to do that. Although I don't have the funds, maybe my mom will help me out.

With the increase in work hours soon, I will most likely be working about 40hrs/week. Since the semester is over, I don't have to worry about school work for about a month.

I know for a fact that he will not pee or poop in my room, but I'm scared that he will one day, out of the blue! The lady that had him before said he was trained to pee only on the pee-pads, but it didn't seem like it when I brought him home. He hasn't used it once. I think that I will use a "belly band" for him while I am not home. Do you think that could help? He is neutered, but maybe this will let him know that he isn't allowed to pee in the house while I'm not home.

PS--Tokyo does have a brother..his name is Stewie and he's a Shih-Tzu! He's almost four and we gave him away when we gave Tokyo away. The family we gave him to absolutely adores him. I love them and Stewie seems very happy there. They live down the street from me. Maybe I will ask if they want to set up a weekly play date. Probably on Saturdays while I'm working.

Again, thanks so much! I'm going to try harder to make it work.

PPS-- That's Stewie! Second is my two babes sleeping on my bed. The third is Stewie and Bandit playing. Bandit was our special dog. He was almost borderline psycho with energy. So hyper! He lived with my boyfriend and his family. He was hit by vehicle at 1 yr and 6 months. RIP crazy baby.
