Hmm.. not quite sure what to do. Maybe he has had a bad experience in the car (going to the vet, etc). I would start out by making the car a good place, with toys and a bed. Do this when the car is not moving and until he is excited to get in the car. Then gradually work your way up to turning the car on, going down the block, and so on. If you have a dog friend nearby maybe take him there or to the dog park/store. Any happy place. That way he associates the car with good! I'm just guessing here, all the dogs I've met have loved the car.. but if I were in your position that is what I'd do. One last thing is drive slowly and carefully and do not praise him when he is scared. Good luck!
