Yes, definitly do research before you breed. Alot can happen and you need to be prepared. I researched for 2 years before I decided to start breeding, in fact...to this day, I am still learning new things. If you don't know what your doing and there is an emergency, you will not be prepared to handle it. So, please learn as much as you can, talk to other breeders and vets. My first litter a girl was breach and had I not read up on it, would have lost the girl. I know alot of breeders that will breed at 18 months, but for me personally, I prefer 2 yrs old.
