Yeah what she said.
They do not look like dandruff. If you take her outside in sunlight...the sunlight reflects off the nits. This was the easiest way for me to see them with the naked eye.
While combing her hair out...have a small container with lice shampoo/water...rinse the comb in it. That is where you'll see the bugs themselves.
You can try to feel the nits if you want...pull up a few strains of hair and slowly pull it between your finger and thumb...
Schools see lice so often...I really doubt they're mistaken unfortunately.
