That makes a HUGE difference. I have three kids ages 11, 8, and 5. We probably have spent a little over $100 a piece this year. I get so tired of buying them things and then they don't take care of things. It's almost "easy come, easy go" kind of attitude. It made it really easy to spend less this year. We did get Maximus as a family gift ($400), but if the truth be told, he was really my gift. lol My mom (I'm 36) always buys us a family gift, and then a small something for each of us. This year she bought us a Wii (I picked it up for her when I found one at Walmart). I started homeschooling the kids this year, so I thought it would be good exercise and a great reward system. Actually, between Maximus and my dh's Christmas (I'm surprising him with a
banjo), he and I are quite the spoiled ones this year.
