Lucy is now 3 1/2 years old. Do you think she is to old to learn something new like this? I would be so willing to try it.. I love Lucy and wouldnt give her up for anything, but she can be very annoying....

Sure, why not? It worked with Izze and she is 8 years old (she used to bark when we leave her).
You just have to be consistent and quick. Associate the word with the spray.
My trainer said with stubborn dogs who don't mind the water, to put a splash of apple cider viniger in the bottle of water... they hate the smell...
She sprayed me to prove that it didn't sting (and it didn't, but it sure did stink!). I tried this once with my puppy when she was biting and wouldn't listen to "no" or my yelps. Needless to say, she never tried it again.
I'm not sure if I would do that again---I was a young teen at the time with no experience with dogs. I don't really like that method because it's kind of mean.
