Default Need your advice

Here's the deal-I sold dishes on eBay for $81.00. They were brand new in the box. I packaged them very well. Wrote fragile all over the box. Made the buyer get insurance and delivery confirmation. She claims some were broken. She filed an insurance claim with USPS, but it was denied. I am going to appeal, but if I don't win, here are my questions. Please answer honestly, I need advice.

1. Should I be responsible for refunding all her money even though I'm now out the dishes?

2. Should she compromise and I refund half? I've already offered this to her, but haven't heard back yet.

3. Should I let her file a Paypal claim and see what happens if she doesn't accept my offer? (Anyone have to deal with something like this on Paypal?)

PS. I've learned my lesson and will never sell fragile items on eBay again.
