My youngest boy had a terrible time with ear infections when he was small. It was so bad that the DR. had decided one more and he would put tubes in the ears to drain them and hopefully prevent further infections. At the office that day a nurse pulled my wife aside and told her to mix white vinegar and rubbing alcohol in even parts and put several drops in each ear three times per day. We have never had to see the DR for an ear infection since then. It also works as a preventative for swimmers ear. It seems the problem was that the eustachian tubes were too small to drain properly.
Also the antibiotics are going to cause irritation to the bottom so now is a good time to start coating him with vaseline or some other protectant in anticipation. |
