I completely understand. And its like, WHY would people use our dogs to create drama? Its family? Whats the point?

I don't get why families do this to one another, the best advice I have would be to take her aside at some point and say you are so grateful to have your in-laws to stay with while you and your hubby's house is built and that you know it must be hard for them to share their space with you two and the pup...(something nice!) and then say I want us to continue to get close and I feel I need to say something about the situation with my dog. Just lay it out calmly and clearly. maybe even say your dog is on a vet reccomended diet and its really important that everyone help adhere to the vet's protocall...and you know she wouldn't want to do anything to hurt your puppy...and see what she says and you can try and get the behavioral stuff out there too! If she isn't a total psycho (like my ex MIL) then she should realize that your dog is a part of your family, you take her seriously and you expect her to respect the way you raise your dog!!!!!!
