As we always go to a member of my family's house for Thanksgiving, I never get any left-overs  so my hubby went to the store and picked out the smallest turkey he could find (8lbs) so we are doing our own Thanksgiving on Friday, with just us and the babies Neither have ever made a turkey so we figure we'll experiment when it's just us! Any tips? |
If you are wishing to stuff the turkey, make sure the stuffing is cooled before putting it in the turkey. I usually make the stuffing the day before (to get it out of the way and to make sure it is cooled).
I only have to make desserts this year. I really miss cooking though. Our house was usually the dinner place but the kids are spread out now and it is just too hard to get together.
I even put a double oven in this house when we moved here 3 years ago. I love smelling all the foods cooking all day and then the leftovers! I am really going to miss it this year...this is the first year we won't be having dinner at home.
