Default Help With My Yorkie Puppy at Meal Time

Hello Everyone, I needs some advice/help with my yorkie baby. Sophie Kate is almost 6 months old, I have had her just about 3 of those months.

In the last two weeks Sophie Kate has picked up a very bad habit during meal time (meaning my family's). While we are eating she will sit by the table and bark for attention. To make matters worse when we ignore her she starts growling and biting at our legs and arms (if she can jump that high).

This is so strange to since I know since I have had her she has never had people food (one of my pet peeves is an animal who begs while you're eating).

I have tried a firm "No", spraying her with water (advice from a friend, which she simply enjoyed and started acting crazier) and restraining her by holding her on her side for a few seconds...no luck.

Since this is my first experience with a puppy any advice would be welcome.

I should note Sophie does have a crate and her crate training is going so well we have let her out with the family a little more. Do you think putting her in the crate during meal time will break this habit?

Thank you,

Cheryl
