Nikki, I had a similar situation years ago with one of my puppies. The eye looked much the same as the pic. She had anesthetic drops, prednisone drops and antibiotic oint. that I had to rotate every 1-2 hours. Her eye cleared up fine and she is an adult with 2 good eyes.
As for surgery at that age--had to do that too. I had a little female in my second litter many years ago and she developed a HUGE femoral hernia. I was so concerned about strangulation that I insisted one of the most experienced vets in the practice do her surgery. She recovered completely and was a happy healthy girl in about 3 days...
These babies are very resilient...the eye turns that color when it gets traumatized..seems that is part of how it handles the hurt.
