Yea, when they are little you have to take care of them like babies. I have a tall bed as well, but now that my baby is 3 he can jump on and off. When he was little he ran across the parking lot and ran head first into the curb, flipped in the air and started yelping.LOL.. Then once he jumped out the truck when he wasn't supposed to and landed on his head. That was the scariest. He cried and cried, but he was okay. He is not 3 yrs old and when I hold him I hold him on my arm and my hand around his chest. I never let him leap from my arms. And he knows the stay command so he doesn't leap from the car anymore. With some time and training you should feel much better. You will have to doggie proof your house for at least a year or so. I crate and pen trained my baby so he had a safe place to stay when I was busy. Now he is old enough to have free roam of the house.

Good Luck!
