we have an allergy yorkie for 4 years and go to dermatologist and have done it all -- usually back half is flea allergy so if she is not itching her face and rubbing face and chewing paws my guess would be this is flea related -one flea bite can cause an allergy dog to itch up to 3 weeks below is a ton of info on allergies so i would read up on it as it can be very frustrating.

Search Results for allergies

with environmental allergies it is good to bath weekly but oatmeal shampoo surprisingly most allergy dogs are allergic to it and it is very drying so best to use a hypoallergenic shampoo and my favorite is earthbath hypoallergenic.

If your dog is an adult dog and showing signs of allergies i would put on natural balance fish and sweet potato as it is a good food and the less ingredients in a food the better as their system gets over loaded but food allergy is only 10% of the time and 90% of it is environmental. If your dog stops itching when giving steroids it is not food as steroids and atopica will not stop a dog from itching if it is food related and it is a real test to see if food or not
