Hold your little one by his beard with one hand while you gently wipe out the gunk. He may scream and fight and act like your killing him. Trust me, you're not. I use this technique on ALL of the longhaired dogs that come into the groom shop. Some hate it, some don't even care. All yorkies though, hate it. lol Spoiled, they are. Even mine won't sit still but holding his beard helps me from poking him in the eye. Hope that helps you out.
