 1st Bad Tragedy due to Rita
There have been deaths on the freeways. There have been people stranded and needing gas and shelter - and there has been panic in Houston and parts of LA. We're all breathing better but still face a bad storm - but THIS story broke my heart this morning -
A busload of elderly people from a Nursing Home leaving Houston were evacuating this morning at 5 am. Their Bus caught fire outside Dallas...and 24 people were killed....Only 14 people survived -
Authorities said the bus apparently caught fire due to a mechanical problem, and that oxygen tanks inside the bus then started exploding from the severe heat of the fire.
These poor people were just trying to get away from this hurricane and lost their lives in a terrible way - It's so sad. |
