This is exactly what I was going to say so... awesome post! I was a server in college so my 2 cents are: I wouldn't bother trying to talk to your coworkers. I doubt it would make any difference and it might make things harder on you. I'd even wait until you know the manager better before talking to him. At one restaurant I worked, the manager slept with most of the waitresses so you just never know. Keep up your training and look for another job when you have time- at least you're making some money while you job search and it's more experience which will help you getting in at a nicer place.
