Our vet said the smaller they are the less power they have in their jaws, and by not being able to bite and chew hard enough the teeth do not fall out... If you wait too much it can lead to infections (noticable by bad breath) that is caused by food being trapped between the teeth. Also if the normal teeth canīt grow like they should cause the baby teeth are pushing then it can lead to deformed jaw...

Our pup is 1,6kg and she had 11 teeth pulled at once (usually they use anasthesia for this, so they sleep trough it).... But your vet should be able to tell!
