You are right to worry about her having puppies. Toy breed dogs are at a much higher risk for complications and c-sections are pretty common. There is no reason to take that risk with her.

Did you know that if you had spayed her before she ever had her first heat she would never get mammary cancer? If you spay her now, before she has her second heat, her risk of cancer will only be 8%. If you wait until after she has that second heat, her risk of getting mammary cancer when she gets older jumps to 25%.
