They *have* to know the background of the dog they get because of the allergies. I had to get pure-bred Yorkies for the same reason, allergies. However, they will obviously have access to every rescue group in the country and I'm SURE someone will find them a young puppy who they know is good with kids. So while I tried for months to "rescue" before buying a puppy, they have many many more resources than any of us
