I recently stayed with my inlaws where there are lots of lovley places to walk the dogs. When i made the announcment that from now on the dogs are not allowed off the leash on walks. My father inlaw told me i was being neurotic and there was nothing to worry about, several other family members commented that i was taking away the dogs pleasure by not having them off the leash. I stuck to my guns though and took the insults. Maybe if they read some of the tragic stories on here they would shut up and except that my only priority is my dogs safety. On the last day i was ther, i was having an afternoon nap after sunday dinner and my father inlaw took the dogs out for a walk without my permission. I ws not amused and i wont be taking the dogs there anymore.
Dont let anyone tell you what to do when it comes to your dogs. Never let anyone you dont 100% trust walk your dogs. Stick to your guns and if other people dont like it tough s**T. |
