Yes, you are right...it is a very tough came. And people are not forced to see a debate they don't want to talk about because it isn't allowed here.
(Kind of a circular argument there.) For those who do desperately want to discuss it, find a place to do it.
I see your point though Megan, I really do. I guess there is no way to please everyone. At which point in time it becomes an issue here or anywhere else, I guess that it when members have to determine if they still wish to be members or if it is time to take a break from the forum for a while--and I think we all have a good general idea of when that would be the best.
