This will be our first Winter together so we are trying to find out what will make her the happiest and what will be the easiest for us to do.
Lola has had Allergy Tests done with her previous owners. They couldn't find the paper work on Lola's original Allergy Test results, but they did remember she's allergic to grass, leaves, pollen and all chicken products. I think they said the tests ran them either 300 or 600 dollars (I can't remember) but it sure was worth it. She was so unhappy and itching no stop. She also takes Allergy Pills 3 times a day to help her with the itching and hives As long as she don't miss a dose then she's very happy.
My girl has always been taught NOT to potty in the house or on the patio (it's carpeted). So we're having a hard time trying to get her to potty in the house on a potty pad. I even tries soaking it in her urine, so she would smell it, but that didn't work either.
Poor girl... it's absolutely raining outside today and she will not go outside to go potty. It's already after 5pm and she hasn't gone potty since early this morning. I've taken her out, but she keeps running back to the front door to get out of the rain. Funny thing, I can train my cats to use the human toilet, but I can't get my beanie baby (Lola) to use a pee pad. Huh? Unbelievable Stubborn Girl! Maybe I can train her to use the toilet too... Just a crazy thought I had

but I don't want her falling in.

As far as I know mine isn't allergic to anything, and luckily for us she doesn't mind the rain at all anymore, but when we first got her she wouldn't go pee on our wet patio, so we had to put down a dry piece of cardboard each time. Then the cardboard would start to get wet after we'd leave it out there for a while, and then she just started to get used to it. My hubby actually took Roxy out for a walk in the rain today! She did wear a coat though, but it didn't help much... |
