  My sister and her husband do not freeze the deer meat they CAN it. They use a pressure canner and alternate the stew size pieces of venison with beef suet. I can give you the recipe (after I get it from my sis) if you would like it. Just PM me! It does not taste like venison at all and tastes really good. PLUS it can be stored in the pantry or in a cool place on a shelf.
 I do not like the game taste either........ and by canning the meat with beef suet, it really makes a difference.
